In this episode we talk about the excitement, nerves, and pure joy we have experienced being able to reopen the gym after 79 days of being closed. We talk about reminding ourselves to be patient with other small businesses and our gratitude for our community for having patience with us. Every single business has had to change and is operating with a new set of "rules" and reduced resources. While we had a few different segments planned out to discuss, we decided to remove them and speak freely and honestly about all of the falling out surrounding the CrossFit brand in relation to the Founder and CEO's comments on social media over the weekend. It has been a whirlwind for affiliate owners and the CrossFit community in general. While our hearts were heavy with the news and our resulting un-affiliation, we will embrace this opportunity to grow and evolve. Our love of our community and functional fitness as a methodology will never change but our sign on the door is going to. Hope you enjoy our candid conversation and sharing our feelings on the matter the day of us announcing our decision.

In this episode we start with an update on where we are at on day #66 of social distancing and Jenn talks about being a "recovering perfectionist" and starting a journal for the first time. We clear up two commonly mistaken idioms in the segment "Things You Don't Need to Know...but We're Going to Tell You Anyway". The meat and potatoes of this episode is why we love CrossFit. We break down the definition of CrossFit and discuss the importance of any training program improving a person's GPP (General Physical Preparedness). We then head into the 4 standards of fitness that CrossFit has identified for evaluating fitness and health and finish with one of Jenn's personal favourite reasons for loving this sport.
We hope that whether you belong to a CrossFit gym or you've never heard of CrossFit until today, you'll be able to appreciate what we do and love CrossFit a little more after listening to this episode.
